We’re actually out of Boracay already. I’m typing away on my laptop inside my cousin’s room here in Sapian, Capiz. Tita Jinah is Mommy’s cousin and her husband Tito Dodoy always take us in whenever we’re in this part of the country.
I missed out yesterday’s post since I was mostly out for the day. I got up later than the usual and had to get ready for the island hopping boat ride.
After breakfast, we headed over to the shore to look for Joseph who has been selling us the idea of letting him take us on a boat ride (for a fee of course). The first day when he approached me he said that he’ll give us a discount if we book with him. When he sold the idea to Mommy, he said that instead of going lower than the discounted price, he’ll just give us additional hours on the trip.
Joseph is born (1981) and raised in Boracay and has lived in the area even before the Laguna de Boracay Village was built. He said that LDB has been operating for 18 years now. His brother and other family members also take the boat out together with the tourists. If you want to book a Boracay island-hopping tour with a straight shooter who knows the area well, contact Joseph Gelito at 09287809589.
Anyway, Joseph’s boat was not anchored along the shore when we got there at around 930am. The guard called him from the other gate and he told us that his brother took the boat out with a Japanese couple for a 1-hour boat ride before they had to check out of another resort. The boat should be back by 10am. So while waiting, Joseph went to out to rent snorkelling masks so that I could finally get down to business.
I got about 30 minutes of water time since our late start brought us strong waves already. We had lunch at Noeme’s and had wonderful customer service experiences! It’s embedded in my DNA already and I’m always on the lookout for such.
So I bid farewell to Boracay for now but this is definitely not the last time I’ll be in its waters.
It’s one thing for me to talk about my experiences but if you’re interested you can sit through this web album of the trip. I have to warn you though, you’ll be seeing a lot of my vanity shots.
