Is it possible to feel cabin fever even after just 2 days?
We stayed in yesterday feeling too lazy to do anything. My mom and I walked the shoreline in the afternoon just taking in the sights. Joseph, the boatman who approached me on Monday afternoon, did his sales pitch to Mommy.
We were supposed to do the island hopping thing this morning but the passing of typhoon Egay and the sucking in of the southwest monsoon changed all plans. So I’m stuck inside the cottage. I already finished 2 of the 3 novels that I brought with me and I wasn’t feeling like breaking in the third. Instead of my favorite spot, I had to make do with the cottage veranda for my work area. So here I am, sitting in my new drawstring pajamas taking in the swaying coconut trees and the pitter-patter of the rain.
I’m still facing the pool. It still looks inviting. The sky is not completely overcast and the sun still manages to shine. However, the rain just wouldn’t let up. It’s not the hard beating, torrential rains that they had in Metro Manila yesterday but more of a steady downpour. If not for the cold temperature, I would still be braving this weather, albeit foolishly, and jumping into the pool.
Hopefully, the rains let up tomorrow and I can get a spot of boating in. I just might be able to do some snorkeling on this trip. Oh, please dear Lord, let me get that chance.
PS Is it also possible that I am the most outgoing member in our family of four? Egads!
