NO SPOILERS!!!
I got the book 2 hours after it was released locally. I would have gotten it sooner but my brother who ordered it with some colleagues at work, did not wake up when the alarm went off. I was from the night shift anyway and let’s just say that the spirit was willing but the body was weak.
I was up reading it from 12:30am until around 6:00am of the 22nd since I’m such a creature of the night. Let me just say that JK Rowling jerked me around and my emotions went through a wringer towards the end of the book. At one point I was prepared to hate her but all’s well when I got to the epilogue. (You can see what I thought about her in my Jaiku widget on the sidebar. I sent that while I was halfway through the last chapter of book 7.)
The third book, “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban” is still my favorite among the books of the series. Nothing connected more with my emotions as much as the third book. The first two books were a fun way of introducing the different characters and the fourth, fifth and sixth books set the stage for the showdown. I’ve said, after reading “Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince” that the whole series is a quest. And what a quest it was.
