Again, again, again

First things first… HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY! (not that he reads my blog, but it’s good karma to have this out here in the “interweb” tee hee) Anyway, on with the show.
——————–
Went to work 2 hours early this evening, would have been at the office one more hour earlier than my usual except for the aforementioned birthday. Good thing since I got to go to the doctor as the clinic was still open. You see, the back of my neck on the left side started giving me pain when I woke up this afternoon. Running my fingers over it, I noticed 2 small bumps.

I didn’t recall bumping my head or getting jolted by anything of the sort while I was asleep so I kinda panicked. I got an ice pack thinking it would help with the swelling. My lola ran her fingers to check and she was saying that it might be lymph nodes. When my mom came home, I had her check it out also and she told me to see the doctor if one was available at the clinic.

The only doctor left at the clinic was a dermatologist but he agreed to see me given the situation. His diagnosis: matted lymph nodes due to upper respiratory tract infection. (I also got a lecture on what lymph nodes are, where they are found on the neck and the medical terms associated with it. Those that are swollen are my post cervical lymph nodes. I told him I panicked because I only experience those behind the ears.) And so, I’m on antibiotics once more for the same infection that plagues me at least once every quarter.

The funny situation was when I went to the doctor, I had bodyguards with me. Kuya, EE and AS all accompanied me to the clinic. hehehe Thanks guys!

A side note: Everytime I use my HMO for my check ups and I seem to have the knack of getting specialists diagnosing me with illness with little connection to their field. Like this dermatologist who diagnosed me with URTI, there was the pulmonologist who said I had GERD (gastro-eosophagal reflux disease) and that I should see a gastroenterologist the next time. The only time I lucked out was when I saw an ENT (Ears, Nose, Throat) specialist when I lost my voice courtesy of the URTI.
