Somebody has just replaced Sandy Cohen as the coolest dad on television. In my book that is.

I’ve been watching fansubs of the Taiwanese drama “Devil Beside You” and I must say, You Hui takes the top spot for now.

You Hui comes off as a very flighty character at the beginning. His personality simply clashes with his stature in society, that of the presidency of the university. He dressed up as a janitor roaming the halls of the school. He was banging the big drum like a crazed fan, leading the crowd and cheering on his son during the big basketball game.

When the big secret gets revealed towards the end, he ends up as the person who thinks about it most sensibly. He didn’t let societal pressure from his position color his judgment. He continued to support Ahmon and Qi Yue and act like things are all normal and A-OK.

He may not have been there for his sons while they were growing up but his heart is full of good intentions. He guarantees his offsprings’ happiness.

So, sorry Sandy. You Hui has to have the top spot now. Not unless you sing again.
