My connection isn’t as high-tech as Beatlebum but I’ve got my connection up and running at home. After watching my teammates set up networks in our training rooms, I decided to create my own network so I can get my laptop up and running with a connection in my room.

The laptop is actually issued from work since I do quite a bit of work remotely — training deliveries, program and module development and of course that scourge of modern communications, email. I constantly need to check my email since I work with people in different time zones from all over. I still haven’t bought my own personal notebook for all the stuff I’m doing on the side. I’m still holding out to buying one until I’m pretty sure of my finances and that I have enough moolah to make me solvent. (Where is this financially reasonable voice coming from!?!)

We have recently upgraded our desktop since our old one is really old. My mom, instead of complaining, went out and bought a new one. That’s the upside of having a parent who understands technology.

Since the hardware is pretty much stable now, I wanted to maximize my DSL connection. I have the same DSL plan as Luthien and havethe same situation. I mentioned in my comments on her blog that I wanted to set up a wireless connection but I missed out on the wireless router that was on sale. Anyhoo, I finally am able to get online at any time from my study/work table without stealing the connection from the PC downstairs.

Hopefully with this set up, I will be able to update much more regularly. Scribbledbabbling has been feeling a little neglected in a while.
