“My name is Iñigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.”

It goes without saying that Iñigo Montoya, the guy who uttered the line I used as the title, is one of my favorite fictional characters. His passion and single-mindedness strikes a chord in me that I really can’t define. The Princess Bride movie directed by Rob Reiner is in my list of all-time favorite movies. Something in that fantastic fairy tale keeps me coming back for more.

Somebody posted on Slashdot that William Goldman, the writer of The Princess Bride and other movie greats like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and All the President’s Men is collaborating with composer Adam Guettel for a musical version.

Time will tell how well they would be able to translate the story into a musical but I will definitely make it a point to see it when it comes out.

Death cannot stop true love. All it can do is delay it for a while. - Westley to Buttercup

I am such a hopeless romantic!
