Have been hankering for carrot cake for several days now. mah Bebe told me that we should go to Chocolate Kiss Cafe. So off we went to my alma mater, UP Diliman.
Because it’s Saturday, the 2nd floor was the one open. They had a pianist who was playing a varied list of pop songs that you can hear people singing along with it. I wasn’t able to take pictures though since I only had my camera phone and it is still unable to download to my PC. (I better get another USB cable for it.)
I started the meal with the Mushroom Soup which satisfied me since it didn’t taste of “tin can.” mah Bebe decided to skip the soup course and ordered the Hungarian Sausage and Penne and the Devil’s Food Cake for dessert. I wasn’t feeling adventurous tonight so I just had the Spaghetti Bolognese and of course, the reason why we decided to get dinner there, the carrot cake for dessert.
It was a filling meal and the carrot cake sure hit the spot! It was moist just the way I like it although the cream cheese frosting was a little too sweet for my taste. You could see the finely grated carrots and the moistness that the pineapple brings to the whole thing. It didn’t have walnuts like what the other bakeshops had which was fine with me since I am not a fan of the whole carrot-walnut combo.
I never thought that I’d be raving about Chocolate Kiss this way. My previous experiences there when I was still in the University weren’t so good. I’m so glad that I get to enjoy what they have to offer now. They do “serve the good stuff!”
